tribune: a champion of the people
The Tribune Building Project started in 2012 when Incourage purchased the historic property with the intent that residents would decide its future use. From the beginning, this was about more than the building. It is a demonstration of resident-centered process and connection of all Incourage’s capitals toward a vision of a community that works well for all people.
The Tribune is a social enterprise that helps shape a strong and inclusive local economy and community that works well for all people. The space advances:
In the Building
Residents’ priorities for the Tribune Building include: Art Studio, Cafe/Brewpub, Creative Workshop, Culinary Kitchen, Flexible Space, Gallery, Game Room, Meeting Room, Microbrewery, Play Area, Recreational Rental, Rooftop Lounge, Social Space, Study Room, and Welcome Center.
Collaboration & Partnerships
In September 2014, the Incourage Board of Directors approved owning the Tribune permanently as an affiliated entity. This long-term commitment is a demonstration of Incourage’s strategy to connect all of its capitals, in furtherance of its vision of a community that works well for all people.
Incourage is committed to investing in the people who will inhabit the space as much as the functional space needed for production of their goods and services.
Incourage will pursue LEED certification for the Tribune. This will serve as a model for the community and future generations, demonstrating the economic benefits that can be realized when utilizing environmentally sustainable practices.
Ultimately, the Tribune will be funded by a combination of public, private and philanthropic contributions. To date, $1.7 million has been invested in the Project.
